World Food Day Annual Food Drive - Oct 16th

World Food Day is a day set aside each year to consider food insecurity in our communities and to aid local food pantries in advance of the busy holiday season. This year is our tenth official year running a food day collection, and we are so proud to have collected TONS—no actually, we have collected more than two tons of food—for local organizations working to help our neighbors in need. Each year we set a collection goal, and for the 2024 drive, we are aiming for 1,000 items. We will have a box out for our collection starting on October 1st, culminating in a final push on 10/16! Please consider joining us that day!

Also, ion advance of that date we are seeking “collection champions.” A collection champion is a location (or even just a person) that accepts one of our official collection boxes and collects food at their site (either a church, business, office, or even a front porch). Champions ask friends and coworkers to donate, leading up to our Hideaway representative collecting the boxes on World Food Day, October 16th.

All collected items are donated to local food pantries, and we can assure you EVERY CAN, BOX, OR BAG of food counts.
